The following timeline shows a brief history of important events in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The following are current issues plaguing the DRC:
  1. Ethnic Conflict:
    • The Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (Rwandan)
    • The Allied Democratic Forces and the Lord’s Resistance Army (Ugandan)
    • The National Liberation Forces (Burundian—military offshoot of a Hutu rebel group)
  2. Mai-mai Militias (community militia forces)
  3. Ebola Outbreak (Currently 13th)
