  When children are out of school, they run the risk of being recruited into warring parties or sexually abused 9. Their career aspirations, ambitions, and the joy they feel from learning no longer have a place to reside. When conflicting parties use schools and other educational facilities as barracks, hideouts, or recruiting grounds, they deprive children of their right to education and expose them to the damaging effects of war 10. As a result, we must work together to protect education from attack in Northern Ethiopia.
