Advocacy Goal 1
As seen with DAFI, governments can partner with the international community to help with refugees and their accessibility to higher education. The United States has the ability to provide refugees with the materials needed to succeed, such as placing them with host families, supporting their tuition and other costs related to tertiary education, and providing a network for refugees to be supported throughout their educational journey. This program will not only cover the costs; it will also provide refugees with resources and counseling so that they have guidance. This guidance will hopefully have refugees included in the development of the counseling plan and implementation of mentoring programs. The program will take into account the applicants needs, and look to place them in an environment where they will be most likely to succeed, and take into account their psycho-social needs.
