Tyler Hickspg 46 — breechblock
A metal block that is pushed down at the back of a firearm barrel, particularly that of a rifle. This part of the firearm is what allows this specific type of weapon to actually be reloaded with another cartridge before the breechblock was again place back onto the rifle.
pg 46 — penknife
A small pocketknife with a blade that can be quickly collapsed down. Originally, was created to thin and point quills for tips of fountain pens, which was where the name penknife came from.
pg 49 — Chinamen
Dated and offensive term describing or referring to a person of East Asian descent. Despite the fact that it is a grammatically incorrect phrase, the phrase itself has been coined by White authors to discriminate against those with stereotypically East Asian characteristics or traits. Also, like many other slurs and words of oppression, the phrase has begun to become reclaimed by these East Asian groups, particularly authors and writers of this region.
